Custom Pavilion for the Fort Valley Museum
Even though the weather recently has not felt much like spring Valley Builders has been gearing up for a busy contracting season. Warmer weather and longer days allow us to enjoy what we do best, custom contracting in the Shenandoah Valley. This blog is about a custom pavilion built for the Fort Valley Museum.
The Shenandoah Valley is full of great communities with rich history to be enjoyed and preserved. Valley Builders received an opportunity to help celebrate that history in June 2015 when the Fort Valley Museum contracted us to build a new pavilion for their use. The Fort Valley Museum is a collection of buildings, a church and one room school, that houses exhibits capturing various periods in Fort Valley’s history. The museum is open to public beginning Memorial Day Weekend through mid-October each year. A structure that highlighted the surrounding landscape of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley seemed ideal.
The museum wanted a structure that could be utilized by the surrounding Fort Valley community events. A custom 40 feet by 30 feet pavilion structure that would highlight the surrounding Shenandoah County landscape was the ideal solution. It was decided that the pavilion would be situated on the museum property in close proximity to the Old Church.
Valley Builders broke ground in late June with a tight timeline to have the job completed in three weeks. The team worked tirelessly to lay foundation, set beams, and get under roof to meet the deadline. The hard work paid off and the pavilion was ready to go in three weeks and was christened with a community ice cream social.
This Fort Valley project is a great example of the experience Valley Builders strives to provide to all customers. As a customer contractor we want to place the needs of of our customers first to present a personalized build plan that delivers the desired end results. What made this project extra special for us is the fact that it benefited the community where we live and operate, Fort Valley!
Thank you for your time.
